Q and A Pasal Interview

This is just some of the infos I got when I stalked some Asis boys. Stalk untuk kebaikan dan ilmu apa salahnya tak? So sini aku copy paste je lah ye. Uh, in case ada outsiders yang baca or maybe budak Asis themselves yang baca, biarlah aku letak nama diorang just for credit. Kita takkan nak seseri dicop sebagai peniru/pencilok kan? :)

Is learning a new language worth it to further your studies overseas?

“Yes, it allows me to learn new language, interact with different people, discover new possibilities, etc.” Bla bla bla. Cliché answers for an interview.
Kita gi interview, mesti nak jadi “The One”. Nak jadi lain dari yang lain. Nak menonjol.
Jadi, jawapan kita pun kena la unik.

Benda yang paling paling penting dalam interview, tak kisah la tuk studies ke kerja,
Apa yang interviewer cari, “what’s in it for me?” and “why the hell do we have to choose you?”

Jadi, jawapan kita kenalah menjawab soalan dia tu.
Instead of just telling them what YOU benefit from learning a new language,
Tell them what will THEY benefit from it.
Now, THAT shall be our selling point.

Impress them and incite them to choose you by pinpointing what you can do FOR them.
Remember, all those that earned any scholarships will have to serve the respective bodies for a period of time with respect to the contract signed by both parties.
In other words, they are paying us to serve them later on and they need to know if they are investing in the right person, who will benefit them and earn them more money or smoothen their business in some way.
Therefore, we must tell them what they can expect from us when we start working for them.

For an instance,
Instead of saying “ I can interact with different people all over the globe” which is what YOU will benefit, say “I can be your representative when it comes to dealing with clients from the respective country in which I have mastered their language.”

Instead of saying “I can increase my vocabulary”, you can say “I will be ready with the required mastery of language, should my service be needed to serve for a period of time in the respective country or deal with any clients regarding certain projects.”
Instead of saying, “ I will earn new friends”, say “I will be able to be your representative when dealing with clients from the respective countries by communicating in their mother-tongue. Language will not be a barrier anymore. This will indirectly promote your company as well as placing your company well above the others for them to deal with.”

Ada banyak lagi point,
Yang penting, kau kena fikir apa yang diorang leh benefit.
Dan jawapan kau mestilah jawapan yang kau rasa 100,000 orang yang di-interview tak akan jawab.

So there, credit to Afiq Sazlan for the brilliant answers. And credit to Iqbal Roslim sebab aku cilok ni dari page dia with their permission :)
